A mountain in the south-west peninsula near Makassar, with mossy montane forest at about 2,000 m reached by an hour's walk. A 2025 expedition spent an evening here and found it full of nocturnal mammals: a tarsier that may be new to science, common dwarf cuscuses and a range of rodents, including cat-sized giant rats. The nearby lowlands hold Makassar Tarsiers in limestone karst.
