Cynopterus minutus
Minute Fruit Bat is a smaller short-nosed fruit bat that lives in rainforest on Sumatra, Java, Borneo and Sulawesi. Both sexes mature at about 7 months and females first give birth at about 12 months, so its reproductive rate is high relative to other fruit bats (Wikipedia, general species account). The species belongs to megabat within the family Pteropodidae. C. minutus is a smaller species that lives in rainforests. (Wikipedia, general species account).
Its reproduction is seasonal, with two birth seasons a year (continuous bimodal polyoestry): females breed in synchrony, giving birth 5–7 months apart, and there is a postpartum oestrus after each birth. Its recorded distribution includes Sumatra, Java, Borneo and Sulawesi. The females of the species reproduce in synchrony, giving birth to offspring 5–7 months apart throughout two separate seasons (3–4 months apart). In C. minutus, both sexes reach sexual maturity at around 7 months, and females give birth for the first time at around 12 months. (Wikipedia, general species account).
