The spot-tailed goshawk, also called the spot-tailed sparrowhawk, is a small bird of prey measuring 26–30 cm with a wingspan of 45–51 cm. It belongs to the hawk and eagle family Accipitridae and is endemic to Sulawesi. Current classifications place it in Tachyspiza, whereas older references use Accipiter trinotatus; both combinations refer to the same species (Wikipedia taxonomic account citing Raptors of the World).
Its verified habitats are moist lowland forest and mangrove forest. The restricted account available in the sources opened did not provide a dependable plumage diagnosis, altitudinal range, prey list, hunting behaviour, nest site, clutch or incubation period. Rather than infer these traits from other small forest goshawks, this entry retains only the measurements, range, habitat and taxonomic history directly documented for the species. More detailed biology requires consultation of the cited raptor literature (Wikipedia general account).
