Trimeresurus flavomaculatus is the Philippine yellow-spotted pit viper, a venomous snake with a moderately triangular head. Its base colour is green and may include irregular brown bands or yellow spotting; the scientific name refers to those yellow marks. The Philippine national assessment reports a maximum total length of 91.2 cm. Taxonomic treatments also use Parias flavomaculatus, while several former subspecies are now recognised as separate species (Philippine Red List; Reptile Database).

This partly arboreal viper occurs across numerous Philippine islands and is frequently encountered in forest and along riverbanks. It ambushes freshwater fish such as gobies and also eats frogs, lizards and rodents; one published record documents predation on an introduced cane toad. It gives birth to live young. Authoritative databases list no Sulawesi population, so the common name and regional placement in this site's data are erroneous (Sanguila et al. 2016; Reptile Database).
