Sulawesi
The rufous-throated flycatcher is a Sulawesi-endemic member of the Old World flycatcher family. Its scientific name, Ficedula rufigula, combines the Latin terms for reddish and throat, matching the plumage feature highlighted by the English name. Current global checklists retain it as a distinct species, with no recognised subspecies in the sources opened for this account (IOC World Bird List; BirdNET taxonomy).
It is associated with moist lowland forest on Sulawesi. Open species summaries contain very little confirmed information on feeding behaviour, nest placement, clutch size or seasonal movements, so no values are supplied for those fields. Its endemic range, lowland setting and throat pattern provide the most defensible concise account currently available; ecological traits of better-known Ficedula flycatchers have not been transferred to it (Birds of the World account index; BirdNET taxonomy).
