Himalayas and southern China through Southeast Asia to Indonesia, Taiwan and the Philippines
The snowy-browed flycatcher is an Old World flycatcher in Muscicapidae with an exceptionally broad Asian range, extending from the Himalayas and southern China through mainland Southeast Asia to Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan and the Philippines. Fourteen subspecies are recognised across that distribution, so plumage, elevation and movements vary geographically. The opened sources did not provide a diagnosis tied specifically to the Sulawesi form, and no description is inferred from photographs (Wikipedia taxonomic account; U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service taxonomy record).
Across its range it occupies moist lowland and montane forest and feeds on invertebrates. A Malaysian observation at roughly 1,800 m documented a family group and juvenile feeding behaviour, but those details describe Cameron Highlands rather than Sulawesi and are not presented as local ecology. The species is treated as resident or an altitudinal migrant in regional monitoring data. Nest form, clutch size and incubation could not be verified from the accessible sources (Bird Ecology Study Group observation; State of Indonesia’s Birds dataset).
