Basic stats

Habitat

Moist lowland forest

Range

Sulawesi, Indonesia

The yellow-billed malkoha is a Sulawesi-endemic cuckoo and the sole species placed in the genus Rhamphococcyx. Older sources use Phaenicophaeus calyorhynchus for the same species, while current lists use Rhamphococcyx calyorhynchus (Wikipedia and IOC taxonomic account).

The verified habitat is moist lowland forest. Observers have reported the bird following moor macaques, an unusual association recorded in the general account, but the accessible source does not establish which prey or feeding opportunities it gains from doing so. No reliable body measurements, detailed plumage diagnosis, diet, nest construction, clutch or incubation data were available from the sources opened. These facts remain unstated pending a fuller species account (Wikipedia general account).
