Range

Sulawesi, Indonesia

Walker's gliding dragon is a Sulawesi Draco. Males have gliding membranes grey or brown near the body and black farther out, crossed anteriorly by one to three pale radial bands. The short rounded throat fan is pale yellow. Both sexes usually carry a dark nape spot and pale-edged dark eye-spots above the eyes; a dark mark between the eyes is usually present (Reptile Database diagnosis).

The species lays eggs and is named for Royal Navy officer and naturalist James John Walker. Its originally published type locality of Kupang, Timor, is regarded as erroneous; the accepted distribution is Sulawesi. The diagnosis separates it from other members of the Draco lineatus group, but the opened sources do not provide species-specific diet, habitat, gliding performance, clutch size or incubation (Reptile Database; McGuire and colleagues 2007).
