The white-faced cuckoo-dove, also called the white-faced dove, is a Turacoena pigeon endemic to Sulawesi and the Togian Islands. Its pale face is the principal feature reflected in the English name. The Sula cuckoo-dove was formerly included within Turacoena manadensis, but bioacoustic work supported its separation as T. sulaensis; older range accounts may therefore include populations now assigned to the Sula and Banggai archipelagos (Wikipedia account; Avian Research split discussed by BirdForum).

The species is forest-associated. A documented pair near Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park occupied agricultural land along the edge of lowland forest, providing a directly described habitat observation without implying that all modified land is suitable. The accessible sources did not supply measurements, a complete plumage account, food, nest construction, clutch or incubation. Those facts remain unstated pending access to the full Birds of the World treatment (BirdForum observation record; Birds of the World account index).
